COURSE CHARACTERISTICS:

The swim– 500 yards, modified U shape, takes place in three waves in France Park's Old Kenith Stone Quarry.

The bike course: 14 miles, state highway, country roads, more flats & straightaways, some hills, some curves, complete circular loop with right hand turns.

The River City Triathlon running course is the best part of the event: 3.3 miles of France Park's wooded trails.

KIDS EVENT Kids ages 7-14 can get involved at our Triathlon for Kids on Friday, June 13 at 6:30 PM.   Kids age 7 to 10 - Distances include a 100 meter swim, 2 mile bike, and 1/2 mile run.  For kids age 11 to 14 - distances will be doubled.   Use same registration as adults.

USA Triathlon This is a sanctioned  event.

REGISTRATION Be sure to complete both sides of the attached form OR complete online at www.activeusa.com. Send in early. Our limit is 400 entries, INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM. Confirmation packets will be mailed until 6/10/00.

HOOSIER SERIES River City Triathlon is first race in the Hoosier Series. Winner of series will receive prize from sponsor. More information will be in confirmation packet or look up the Hoosier Series website.

FRANCE PARK France Park is located 4 miles west of Logansport on U.S. 24 West. (See map on HOME page) Call France Park at 219-753-2928 for further directions or more information about the Park & its campground.

TIME Race Begins promptly at 8:00am (EDT) ; Race meeting at 7:45 am – IMPORTANT

PACKET PICK-UP

BIKE REPAIR Bike repair will be available for small adjustments.

TRANSITION AREA Area will be guarded. Only participants will be able to be in the transition area, and will be the ONLY one to pick-up bike and equipment. Transition area will be manned only till 11 am.

SWIM Wet Suits will be permitted (if water temp. under 75 degrees). Swimmers will be assigned to one of three waves with the proper colored swim cap.

BIKE Bike helmets are required-ANSI/SNELL approved. NO DRAFTING is permitted. There will be an inspection for helmets. You must have your helmet fastened before you mount your bike and must keep it fastened until in transition area before run. If it is not fastened you will be disqualified! The bike course will be open to traffic. Riders must obey all traffic laws.

RUN Runners must wear their race number on the front to be collected with the tag at the finish line. Participants must complete the entire course for an official time.  This is a trail run.

RELAYS There will be separate bike stands for teams. Swimmers must tag the biker off the bike, and bikers must tag the runner in the assigned position.
