Fishing

|
| Bass, bluegill and crappie are among the variety of fish in the France
Park lakes. Lake Trimer is open to fishermen all year long. Old Kenith Stone Quarry is
available for fishing only in the "off season" when beach goers and swimmers are
not around. Indiana fishing license is required and gas motors are prohibited from use on
either lake. Electric trolling motors are permitted. |
Kids Don't Float
As his Eagle Scout project, Cass Settlemyre designed a kiosk. This
kiosk contains kid-sized life vests. These vests are free for use by
kids who might not have brought them to go boating on Lake Trimer.
Just be sure to return them when you're done.

We're grateful to Cass's thoughtfulness. France Park enjoys and
encourages partnerships with scouts who need a project. |
Ice Fishing |
Those "polar bears" that are willing to wait for
the fish to come to their pole in the cold, may use either of the lakes at France Park as
the ice becomes thick enough. Check with the park ranger about ice thickness before going
out on the ice. |
